Resume Writer caught my eye with a calm design and step-by-step process description. The site’s layout is quite convenient and makes it easy to navigate necessary information. They call themselves ‘an affordable resume service’ and claim to provide 100% satisfaction and privacy guarantee. I was looking for an affordable service to rewrite my resume and though this company would be a good option.

Price Policy

Prices are available on the Packages page; a fee for a single resume starts from $20 and reaches $90 for senior executives. For my mid-career level (7 years of experience), I paid $60 for resume and cover letter. I believe this is very affordable, taking into consideration that many resume writing websites charge over $200 for a single resume. There’s an option to request a call back, but I didn’t needed this and registered to proceed to the next step. Btw, registration via Facebook is also possible here.

Details of order

As soon as I registered and proceeded with payment using my PayPal account, we scheduled a consultation session to discuss my resume in detail. I also attached my old outdated resume.  I expected to talk to someone, but instead they got in touch with me via email and asked me some additional questions. After discussing them, I was curious about delivery time and was not very happy to hear that it would take 5 days. Unfortunately, unlike the Perfect Resume org,  this company doesn’t give you an option to choose your deadline.

Quality of support and writing

There aren’t ways to communicate with them instantly; you can request a call back or a quote, though. On the contact page, there are phone numbers and addresses – I was surprised to find out that the company was based in India. My first draft was delivered within 5 days. Although it looked attractive and the design was good, I had an impression that this resume was…well, not exactly about me as it missed some important points from my career history. I emailed them back asking to add more detail, and they did.

Conclusion

To summarize my impression about this company, it was rather positive. They wrote my resume at quite affordable price. In spite of some disadvantages (long delivery time, no chat support, company based out of the US), I think I got what I paid for. However, I would like to have my resume more personalized and more tailored to my position and background.
